So i recently got my OME springs put on and...its VERY hard for me to see the difference..

I had a 2in daystar lift and the OME are only 2.5 so i know its not a lot..but between them and the tires id imagine it would look a little bigger. Some one who has experience in seeing the springs side by side..are the OME noticeably larger than the stock springs? my mechanic said the rear were the same size and the front had a couple more coils in it but was the same height...are they just stiffer?

I need to know that I didnt get duped by the member i bought them from..not that i dont trust him but its hard to notice the difference.

OME advertises the lift as only 1.5" (http://jeepinbyal.com/prod-OME_1_50__lift_kit-776.aspx) but you gain more like 2-2.5, based on whats seen here with the few installs, likely due to the springs being stiffer. That could explain why they measure the same in the rear and the front is a bit longer to level things out.

ahhhh I see, well that explains it i suppose. kind crummy, i couldt find any info after i got them from the other board member to verify the size of the lift.

SO in essence i Lost .5" from the daystar and gained ROUGHLY .5" from thelarger tires. (General Grabber at2 264/75/R16)

I wonder if I can find some 1 in spacers to go with it all haha

There isn't really just "1" spacers" available, but you could do a 1/4" top plate and clevis lift for the front, and two extra isolators for the rear. Your mechanic must be getting real good at working on a kk suspension.

Its hard to notice the size of the lift, no the ride.

the rid quality is night and day! the springs are stiffer and so there is SIGNIFICANTLY less body roll while turning and the vehicle just feels more in control at highway speeds.

The spaces in the wheel wells are just smaller though, The springs are absolutely worth the investment and to be honest..i wish i had listened to the guys on this forum and done them first. :banghead:

Hes worked on my cars for years now, but for sure we have come to know one another A LOT more recently haha. he works hard for me though and gives me a below list price on all labor since ive been going to him for darn near a decade now haha.

I did find 1 1/2in spacers BTW....but of course i didnt retain the link and now i cant find them again... :banghead:

Was thinking of a couple spacers to bring it a half inche in the front and back..but im honestly okay with it for now. LOVE the tires and the lift i more than enough.

barely caught the power loss question..

I actually haven't lost any power, i accelerate at the same pace..if not faster..with the new tires.

What i DID loose..is MPG...went from averaging 20mpg to now averaging 16mpg.

If you just want another 1/2" for the front, do a clevis lift. I can post a picture of what it looks like with a factory shock tomorrow. Rear you could add two more isolators on the top end. There is a 3/8" gap between the horizontal ridge and the top of the clevis fork.

did you just tighten the upper clevis bolt without engaging the shock assembly all the way?

is adding the 2" conduit nuts just an alternative, or am I confused as to what I am seeing in the picture?

Yep, pretty much. A prybar will come in handy.

The conduit nuts only work if have aftermarket shocks, because there is a vertical alignment ridge on the shock that they won't slide over. The clevis never slipped upwards on me or anything, i think the main reason for the nuts is so you don't have to measure out 3/8". Having four arms would have been helpful to do this without the nuts.

Just remember in the front whatever you add doubles the amount of lift, so if you "tried " to install a 1.5 inch spacers you'd end up with 3 inches of lift and a ton of issues, if you want 1.5 inches of lift then add a 3/8 inch clevis for 3/4 of inch lift and a 1/4 inch top plate for another 1/2 inch lift so there you'd almost have you 1.5 inches of course another alignment as well

So you saying that adding the 1.5 springs and the spacers would equal 3in right? been a long day..bare with me haha If so that was my intention but i have heard of some issues with a 3in lift and over.

What the heck is a clevis lift? and how does it get done?

I currently have the top plate (front strut extender) from the 2in daystar lift still on, giving my OEM struts some extra reach until i replace them later.

What could i do to the back to also bring i up around that?

I honestly only really want another 1in in the front and rear..thoughts?
