Well funny thing happended today. Son needed tires balanced on his car. Told him I'd meet him after class after he drops off the car for lunch. When he was picking up his car, I asked the salesman what's the biggest tire he had for my 16inch rims with no lift. I was thinking of a 2 inch lift later but.. OH CRAP! Look at that big gash in the tire. Holy moly. Look at those chuncks missing and the puncture wounds. Has my Jeep been in battle or something? Son leaves, salesman said he would fix me up. Sent a text to the wife, "Honey?, remember we were discussing a lift and new tires? Well, the lift can wait. I can put a set of 255/65/16's on the car and wait for the lift. Can we swing it? Well, little did I know, I sent the text to my daughter. :goink: She said "Sure dad". Funny 18 year old female  So, he gave me the price. Everything out the door, 700.00. Ok, well, I was pricing out other tires for more but wanted to stay in the sub 800.00 range. Handed him my card, sent wife the text.

So, only issue, had to replace one APS. Seems the core refused to come out. So, they drilled the tire to let out the air, removed it then put in a new sensor. Tack on another 55 bucks.

So, the tires look nice. Wide, tall and I've already ran over a few mall curbs to see if I get any rub. None. :dizzy: So, still thinking of a budget lift and I need new shocks anway. Pics of the jeep to follow but I need to get my rock rails off, powder coated and back on before I send any rust shots. :dead:

Looking good how did you do the tail light. Also what bulb you got in the headlights?

Next thing I want to add is one of those mini bull/bumper/grill bars. Not sure what they call them but I've seen a couple of KK's around detroit with what looks like an after market addon, grill/bumper bar that is centers infront of the grill, is about 2 inches round and isn't more then a 1st high. It almost looks like it "sticks" on the bumper, curves around to the bottom where it attaches. Seen it in passing so I'm only guessing how it fits on. I've seen one of the 2 with lights mounted on the inside of the tubing. Anyone got any leads? :!:

Assuming you're talking about this:

http://www.justforjeeps.com/tugrgu1.html

An OEM part that came with some of the Liberty's off the lot.

I used the truck 4" LED circle brake unit... I drill a big hole and mount in the tail light uni! :banghead: I broke my passenger tail light on my first try~! :grim: OVEN= melted...

So I got a replacement and repeat it again...

I can't believe no one making aftermarket LED tail light for KK.

$500? That's why I guess I didn't "opt" for it. I did see the gas tank skid onsale. I still need one of those. Got the other three and now that I put some bigger tires on, what's another 50 or so pounds gonna do to my MPG? :furious: As far as the bar go, after seeing some smaller form factor bull bars for less then half, I think I'll look around.

Next question, do these bull/brush/guards install if you have OEM tow hook(s) installed?

Thanks
