Ditto on warp on CP4 pumps. The diesel forums, especially Ford's and VW TDIs, are full of horror stories about CP4 pump failure and dealerships blaming it on contaminated fuel (water in fuel) resulting in 8-10k dollars of repair bills for the poor owner. I've never had a water in fuel problem with any of my diesels to date but apparently the smallest amount of condensation in tank trashes the newest offering from Bosch.
Two other common contaminants that put up the warranty denial flag are trace amounts ethanol and ethylene glycol. Just a tiny amount of cross contamination with ethanol laced gasoline or someone's blow coolant hose leaking onto the lot when parked over the tank filler location at the station can screw you over and void your warranty. In my opinion, this is insane.
Where are all the greedy shark lawyers when they are needed?
