The cheaper GM MAP sensor works fine in our vehicles and has already been tested and verified by several forum members. I have one in my garage waiting for when/if I need it.
You'd be silly to pay more than $20 when you can get the Genuine Bosch part with the GM Part # and it works great.
Do whatever you want though.
First of all, thanks to everyone for chiming in on this. I can understand the concern with the Crown part being a cheap knockoff, so I'm with you there. I figured that it might, however, at least have the exact specs of the OEM sensor, and not the 845 Bosch. I'm not completely sold on the idea of the Bosch 845 being a perfect replacement for the 437 sensor. It is near impossible to find specs comparing the two sensors (thanks, Bosch), and on at least one website (Summit Racing) the 437 is described as follows:
These integrated Bosch T-MAP sensors are extremely robust and are not sensitive to oils, fuels, or fluids. The description for the 845 says nothing of the sort.
I feel like there has to be a reason that the true OEM sensor costs significantly more than the 845, and I'm not prepared to take a chance on my engine, unless Bosch or an engineer tells me different, especially given that I have a mint CRD, with only 39,000 miles on it. If it's just a matter of robustness, as someone on the forum has apparently stated, then maybe the 845 just doesn't last as long through the EGR abuse, and that would also be fine...because it's incredibly cheap! No matter what, I believe I will just pay the extra money and get the true OEM replacement, Bosch 0281002437 for $65.97 on Summit Racing's website. I'm going to do the EcoTune in the coming weeks, and that should make the new sensor last for the next decade, hopefully. Again, thanks for your opinions...no disrespect.
