What does your dad think of his LR4? I've got an LR3 that I love!
He loves it, he got the V8 model and it's awesome, interior is sweet, and it's super capable without mods which he's nuts about. Probably his favorite vehicle ever, which is saying something because he tends to burn through them (like father like son I guess

)

Has anyone read through the Expedition Portal write up
Trans America Trail: A month's journey in a 96 Jeep XJ.

Exploration and Adventure Completed Adventures and Events
I haven't read this one yet but it sounds interesting, I want to see as many accounts/reports as possible. Thanks!

JP magazine did a write-up on this several years ago. They actually documented a portion of the route every month with pictures, write-ups, and other tidbits. I remember keeping up on it as they traveled from the West Coast to the Rockies, but then either my subscription ended or that was the end of JP's journey, I'm not sure which. Anyway, I saved those magazines thinking this would be a fun expedition style of travel. Keep us posted if you go through with it.
Definitely going to look through this as well, that sounds really interesting!
Thanks for the info guys
