Found another positive thing about these tires.
If I go over a big bump, my cd player doesn't skip anymore. :ROTFL:

Oh, also looking into regearing. Price is scaring me, as is not knowing jack about it. I'm thinking 4.10s and Detroit Trutracs front and rear. I have no "need" for full on lockers. They'll be nice, but price is high, and I think the DTTs with the tcs will work well enough. Don't know which brand to look into, do I need a master install kit etc?

Be careful who you take it to for the gear job as there are a lot if shops that don't do it right and will stand behind a poor job. There's a local transmission shop here that does gears but I mistakenly chose a national company that has "gear specialists". It's difficult to get then to redo a job so it would be best to be selective and have it done right.
Detroit Trutracs work VERY well with our traction control system, I think we're set up the same as a JK with the electronics. A Detroit locker rear and trutrac front is a good combination but your driving style will have to change a little. 4.10 gears are good for 31" tires, if you plan to go bigger, look at 4.56's. The front takes the same gears as a JK does, you won't find them listed for the KK, if you do their probably for a KJ and won't work. We have high pinion reverse cut gears in the front. I've got 245/75-16 tires and plan to put on 31's this summer. My performance is a little better than stock and this thing is a beast off road.
JBA adjust a strut is definatly the way to go bu it's pricy. If you have a couple more grand to throw at it there's a company making CV's that claims 11" of travel. They sell the ones for the KJ on JBA's site, just google the brand and you should be able to find them.
Hope this helps you find what you're looking for.

Definitely helps. I'd have to talk to some of the LI guys. Jeepin_it_reel regeared so I can see where he went. I don't think I'd go bigger than 31s. I don't really have plans to pull the suspension apart again, and any higher with the OME lift I have, I'll get way too much spring contact to be useable. I honestly want some mileage back, and the added power can't hurt. You went with DTT front and rear right? I wan't it to be streetable still. My girlfriend drives the truck every now and then and I don't think she'd understand how to drive it with a rear locker...

Yea Trutracs front and rear. They're pretty much invisible in 2WD and only a little harder to steer in 4WD, a kid could handle it. It's actually not harder to steer, just different.

I'd be stupid to get rid of her so that's not an option lol. And those words never came out of my mouth. I just want her to be safe if she ever has to drive the truck(which she will...). She wouldn't understand how it works, or how to drive it with the locker. This is a girl that never listened to me about hydroplaning and having the steering wheel ripped out of her hand, and almost put us into a wall at 60mph. Since then she doesn't fly through big puddles... She's learning though. I'm teaching her about cars and trucks  Taught her how to control a slide, and what it feels like for a car to spin...I'll show her more as time goes on. Next thing for her is to drive the Jeep offroad. She's been nagging me for that :banghead:

Ted, how are they in the snow?

I meet a guy he tried to impress me tried parking on a snow mound got stuck. He "forgot it was only 2 wheel drive". I told him get out of drivers seat I'll get off it. And I did.

So did you teach him, or was he a manly man and "could do that, but wanted to let you have a try"? lol

I'm all for teaching her. Besides, I know the Jeep will be in good hands when she has to drive it. Gonna have to teach her how to drive stick in the future. I'm a firm believer of sports cars and muscle cars being a manual.

I washed my Jeep today and looked at the dip on my grille. Still going strong after several months of use.

Mine still looks good, too! I'm excited to paint my wheels again. Each set of rims I've done has looked better and better. Plasti Dip expert.

When I got to Home Depot the black Plasti Dip was sold out. Being that I work in a grocery store, I know to always to a little digging before believing something is empty.
Looked way in the back and I found a few cans. They have a good selection of colors there. Almost got the gun metal color instead which I think would give it the Renegade look.
Bought 3 cans of black and I still have a half can laying around, too.

Both Lowe's and Home depot here only sell black. I wanted to dip my fenders but I think it'll look like crap.

I can't imagine working over night. I'm happy with my 8-5.

A few months ago is when these colors showed up. I wouldn't be surprised if they are from the same order, as the average Joe doesn't know what Plasti Dip is.
Let's see how my memory is. I saw black, gun metal, red, and blue. There may have been one more.
It'll be okay working tonight. About to make some coffee. I will literally be walking in to work holding a coffee in each hand. Easy work tonight. We pull all the overstock from the overheads above each aisle. We do this type of thing once a week, but not to this extent. All the "big shots" from each store come to help. This week the work is done at my store and I'm filling in for my boss for this work for the second year in a row. Goes to show I'm next in line.

Haha nice! Going to be running the place soon enough. When I was in college I worked retail and black Friday was always the fun time. I worked over night and had a 5 hour energy to stay up.
