I'm working on putting my engine back in my tractor, and I have found a ground wire with a ring terminal that pops out of the wire loom at the same place as the starter trigger wire. Does anyone know where it should attach? I thought it might attach to the same bolt as the engine ground, but that stretches pretty tight. Could it attach to the top of the motor mount, starter bolt, or tranny bolt? Any insight would be appreciated.

Why are you calling it a ground wire?

Well, it's black with a big booty ri g terminal on it, so I figured it was a ground of some sort.

You sure it is not grey?

The circuit diagram for the 2005 shows that the diesel has a grey wire that attaches onto the red wire stud to supply power to the Glow Plug Module. If you leave it off you will probably get a code for a failing glow plug module.

You can download the 2005 KJ Service Manual here..includes circuit diagrams.
