Well, its finally got me. I was outside cleaning on the jeep when it popped into my head to check the ball-joints, and sure enough, my driver side has about 1/8in up and down play in it. I called the local dealer and he seemed cool about the lift and all, but he told me to call chrysler. He also did this with the rims and chrysler said they will not cover them. I am afriad if I call chrysler they will void my warranty b/c thats the first thing they ask for is the vin, would it be a good idea to take the lift off then go to the dealer and not tell them it was me that called? All I told them was my jeep is a 2004 with a 1.5in lift.

Should I just spend the $125 on the moog's, its still sad to see them go bad with only 19k on the jeep. Not been off-roading but a dozen times. im scared.

You shouldn't have told them about the lift.

1.5", they may not even notice it.

If they are fooling around with the suspension, they are going to see my conduit washers on the cleavis. I may just take it off and put the stock back on, its no big deal really.

Based on what I've seen other people say, I'd just go ahead and spring for the Moogs. Replacing the stockers with more OEM junk won't solve the problem really, just delay it. As soon as I get my next paycheck I'll be getting some to go with my new Frankenlift, and probably some of Al's arms too.

My $.02

Good choice. DC denied my claim on the ball joints and the dealer had the nerve to try and charge me 100 dollars too. Anyways, I was kind of glad beause it gave me a reason to install the MOOG ball joints.

I noticed you had those eddo. I didnt know if you put them in for the heck of it or is they went bad. Guess I know now.

Edit: How can I tell if the upper ball joints are bad? Do they also go bad as fast as the lowers? Or do the lowers go bad b/c of the way they were engineered?

My dealer didn't give me any flack, and agreed to do both lower and uppers under warranty. Guess I'm good for another 20,000 miles on the Freebees.
