The HDPE can still be torn. I showed that at Moab.........BUT there is still an advantage to them.

1. When you land on your rails, it absorbs a small amount of pressure at the start AND you don't get that *CLANG* noise that makes you cringe.
2. As you slide along the HDPE, you don't get that *SCREEEEEEEEECHHHHHHHHHH* sound.
3. You don't scratch and gouge the metal so you don't have to deal with the rust issues (primer and repaint).

My HDPE only suffered tears on the edges, not on the flat surfaces. Could have been due to sticky out about 1 cm too far.

The Sliders are awesome. Solid. I'm looking at adding the additional protection for the door. I was tilted at a big angle towards my drivers side as I was trying to get around a rock and NO sliders/boulder bars or other basic rails would've protected my door if my KJ had slipped a little to the right. I was sweating it.

There are no pictures of the "Super" Skink Sliders installed that I know of, but Rock Lizards website has about 4 KJ's with the regular Skink Sliders pictured.

Thanks Tokyojoe for all the info. Marty has dropped the HDPE from the current setup, so I guess I'll just have to keep the paint touched up

AdamIsAdam, I see what you mean about leverage on the outer rail if you came down on a rock, but for jacking I'd use the main bar that all rock rails have.

Can you get the jack on the main bar with that other bar in the way? I haven't seen which one you're talking about, so i'm honestly just asking not ragging on them or anything.

Should be able to fit a Hi-Lift at the ends of the bars:

Not at the ends. The ends are slanted.
