I recently purchased a 2005 Liberty Limited. It has the OEM Wrangler HPs and they seem to actually be dangerous in rain. It takes hardly anything before they break loose. I have been thinking it was tires but could it be due to the KJs "anti-spin" rear differential?

If not I was looking at the Pirelli Scorpion ATRs as a solution for the Wrangler traction problems. Any thoughts from your KJ experience?

NEW TIRES =

old Wrangler SR-As or whatever they are =

New rubber will really help you out on the slick wet streets...

Probably the tires. My old BadYears broke loose pretty easily. I nearly had a very bad wreck because the didn't stop int he rain. My new General tires are great. I can't hardly break them loose in the rain and actually have to try in the snow. They have to be the best foul weather tire I've ever had except for the noise.

The stock tires suck and unfortunatly you were not the one who bought it new
if you were you could get new tires from goodyear/DC

We managed to get them to buy us 5 new tires they had to be goodyear so we went with the AT/S's and they do 100X better than the stock tires
on the wet street they are not as good as I would like offroad but they do OK
We did not go MT/R because it was very new and my wife was driving about 35 miles a day and did not want to deal with the noise now we wish we had cause we take it wheelin more than we thought we would

I had the same tires and know what you are talking about. Just about anything Goodyear makes except for a few tires sucks.. Ive heard the Scorpions do not wear to good nor do they last long.. Im sure anything would be an improvement over the stock tires though..

+ another one who dislikes the stock tires, I didn't like the Goodyears at all, they were very slippery, especially when they got wet.

I also got a great deal on some Scorpions, which were a huge improvement on pavement, unfortunately they didn't wear so well off road.

Tires plain and simple. I had the oems and had to put the jeep in 4wheel when it was wet or snow (anytime it was I would be all over). Even in 4wheel they couldn't keep us on the road.

Now jeep is fine in snow and rain without it in 4wheel.
