I think a short trail ride would be great. Let us know when you guys have time available.

If anyone in Nevada has some time I need some help putting on a Lift for my liberty. I'd make sure there was something in it for them. Let me know if anyone can lend a hand. I've never lifted anything before so I'm not too confident.

I am installing a Rusty's coil lift this weekend. I've done lots of suspension work on cars but never a lift. It looks likes it's nothing more than your standard strut/spring change which I've done many times. Should be a piece of cake. I'll let you know if I can help ya once I get this one on and functional.

PS I'm up for some group rides. I'm definitely into desert trails, technical climbs/descents (see Wheeler's Pass, etc.), and geocaching with my Libby. I'm not into rock climbing that takes 1 hour to move 50 ft. and a high risk of body damage. Desert pinstriping is one thing, fender dents are another...

If you could help anytime I'd appreciate it, I don't trust anybody in this town to do work on it, I'd end up out a 1000 bucks.

I'd like to get out more and go trail riding I've been waiting on the lift and tires. Let me know if you need help I'd be willing to come out and help you if you could give me a hand. I've planned on taking it into a place to do the spacer install. Plus I'd take you out to your favorite place for your help. What tires are you going with after your install, I've been looking at bfg atko's in 245 75 and 235 85.

No problem. I'll give you a hand if I am available when you are ready to do the install. Never done a spacer lift, but if it has good instructions and you've got good tools, we can do it. If I were you, I would think about a coil lift. Yeah, more expensive, but it won't put as much wear and tear on your Libby as a spacer kit. I would rather pay more upfront than run the risk of expensive repairs down the road.

You don't need a lift to do some nice trails around Vegas. I've taken my Libby on some nasty/fun trails around here and as long as you've got skids, you'll be fine.

As for tires, I'm putting on a set of 245/70-R16 General Grabber AT2s. Very, very close to BFGs ATs performance at $50 less a tire. I'm not going up the 75 height tire because I don't want to alter the power and gas mileage too much. The 245/75s gives an extra 1/2 inch of clearance, but will suck 2 MPG off and make overdrive close to useless on the highway...well, at least with gas KJ. The CRDs seem to do better with the taller tires because they have the extra torque. Maybe on my next set of tires I might move up, but only if I regear the Libby to compensate for the tires.

Sounds good man. I am doing a spacer in the front because they don't have springs heavy duty enough for the extra weight of the CRD. I need to get skids too, thanks for reminding me.

How did it go? I'm doing mine this week, any problems, tips? I've printed out all the tips on here so I'm just going to go for it. I've got skids ordered too, so I'll be ready to go out.

Lift went in fine. I had to take the front struts in to a shop to have them assembled because my wimpy spring compressors couldn't handle the spring rate. Shop didn't charge me a dime, but I did tip the tech $20. Other than that, it was a relatively easy install. I also replace the rear shock that came with the kit with Rancho RSXs as many people do. I've had it out "in the dirt" twice since installation and I love it. Also, the road manners are 100% better than stock. Happy all around. Let me know how your install goes!

You are doing a spacer lift so you don't need to do anything with the springs. If a shop needs to pull your front end apart to install the spacers, they are going to change you normal labor rates. Since I had the struts and springs out of the car and disassembled, it only took the tech about 5 minutes to compress the springs and put the bolt on the strut. I can't remember the name of the shop, but I'll note the name on the way home from work and post it if you need to take your KJ in for installation.

The spacer goes into the strut spring assembly. So I have to take them apart.

Nevada has been added to the KJ west club's membership. It looks like we will not be trying to start a local club untill we get more interested in joining. Vegas being so transient, I think this is for the best, the membership is always changing here.
