STAY AWAY FROM RRO.
and why is that? have you ever used a RRO rockfather lift? i highly doubt it if you caution like that....since you mentioned you had a daystar and a frankenlift, then im guessing youve only read the negative things about the OTT kits....which is NOT what hes talking about here
rocky road is a great company...
i have a rockfather II kit, and its awesome..... you dont need the Al's A-Arms ... when i put my lift on it didnt rub anything, but in order to fix the alignment a bit, and to get the greasable moogs, i put them on as well ... but AFTER the lift
frankenlift is a great kit, and so is RRO's rock father...... i do advise to stay away from RRO's OTT kits, but its not just RRO that has problems with that,
its any "spacer lift" that will mess up your suspension parts and the DT shocks are really nice, i have them on my jeep ....i like them
EOD, You are doing the same thing that you feel is wrong with Signcutter's post. You are making a statement without actual experience from what you have said. You attack ALL Spacer kits. Have you tried them all?
Renegadekj's put trust into a company, RR, and while many documented problems are with their OTT, they still sell it. Is that truly a company you can trust? They left him out to dry.
Sorry for going off-topic, Ivan.
Rock Lizard is a he, not they. One man business. He is very dedicated to KJ's. In fact, he mentioned in a previous thread, about dropping his XJ line to focus on KJ's.
actually most OTT / spacer lifts i know of hurt your suspension, and all companies continue to sell them......it is not the product that is wrong / bad, so they do not need to stop selling them....
the reason they hurt the suspension is because you have the same travel in your struts/shocks but a taller length to travel, and this adds extra stress and expedited wear and will eventually/quickly wear out those stock parts.....if you add in upgraded and longer travel shocks/struts as well as the OTT you should not have a problem
you can attribute this sort of result not to the parts but to the upgrade performed, and can compare this to almost any upgrade for a vehicle where you do not perform the supporting modifications to make this work.....
take for example a normal car like a civic, and you want to make it faster, sooo you throw on a turbonetics turbocharger kit, but fail to upgrade your injectors and computer.....so the car is performing a little better, yet still not to its full potential at all, and also now you have a car that is running super lean and will eventually and very quickly blow the motor due to not having the supported modifications to make the previous modification safe and allowing it to work correct
was this turbonetics fault you did not do it right? no....they simply supply the parts........ did the OTT kit do the trick and give your vehicle a cheap and affordable lift? yes it did ... but is it RRO's fault that you did not upgrade shocks and struts to compensate for the added height and suspension travel that comes along with a spacer lift? no....only the person who purchased the kit, and therefore theres no problem with the product that RRO offers because it does its job and is made from quality parts....
anytime you modify a piece of a vehicle away from factory specs you have to look into the whole range of things, and make sure everything will make sense and work , and also understand the negative aspects of a modification.... i dont see performance cars upgrading their vehicle but complaining that they have a lot less of a mpg ratio after all the work....

Shocks.
No suspension system would be complete without longer shocks to accommodate the extra lift and suspension flex requirements. If you lift your Liberty more than an inch in the rear, the stock shocks will be too short and will top out. Plan on picking up a set of our great riding shocks if you lift your Jeep. Gas charged shocks tend to ride stiff and bouncy. Most performance oriented offroad shocks are oil damped as a result.... but some shops still stick to the cheaper gas shocks. We also like to avoid ultra firm shocks like Rancho, ProComp, etc. that are designed for trucks weighing thousand of lbs more then the Liberty. For this reason, we recommend Doetsch Tech oil damped shocks as a great compliment to our above listed lift kits.
you pay to play....and a SPACER lift is exactly what that says, something to make your vehicle spaced up and taller....no where does it say it is a suspension upgrade
