was the install difficult? if its too hard, ill have someone install it for me...
i was thinking to go with the no slip, so thats good news.
Jason, you want the no-slip. Trust me. It is more than worth the extra 100 dollars or so. I had a lock-rite in my CJ. The no-slip in the KJ was a HUGE improvement over the lock-rite on the street.
As far as road manners it's debatable. It's all personal opinion. I don't mind mine one bit. My fiance drives my Jeep all the problem and never has a problem with it. If you can handle the MT/Rs and lift then the no-slip probably won't bother you much. You probably won't even hear it or feel it over the MT/Rs. I know once I throw my MT/Rs on I can't hear it at all and the MT/Rs ride stiff anyway so a little bump from the increased backlash is hardly noticeable. I think you've ridden in my Jeep once if you can remember.
They are not that hard to install. About 2 hours should cover it if you have done it a few time before. If you where still on OH i would throw it in for you. I just did one today on a new KJers jeep and he loves it. I have pictures of the install if you want to see.
Its a good inexpensive locker. It won't break on you unless you really try and then you are more than likely going to break something else. You can break anything if you try hard enough and just because someone broke their's doesnt mean much. A lot of people on this board run them and only one or two have broke. I'd be more worried about my front differential than power-trax no-slip breaking, and if you have a light right foot you don't need to worry about either much. I've actually seen the spline on the rear axle shaft on a KJ 8.25" break off before the locker broke, so it is more than strong enough for the KJ.
