Aw shucks! You missed the point. Maybe you were too tired to read the link within the petition and what they are trying to keep access open to? No more wheeling in Livingston if these people get their way.
That tree apreciates the hug though. Hope your spotted owl is feeling well!

No, I didn't miss the point. As an avid hunter, backpacker and jeeper, I do agree that public land needs to be kept open for all recreation, and the legislation the petition is against is some stupid doo doo. However, just because it's stupid legislation doesn't mean I'm going to side with an opposition that is going to allow ranchers to graze their cattle and loggers to cut the trees; both doing damage to the environment and diminishing the public lands. So sorry if I'm to the left of you on this issue. I'm sure I'm to the right of you on others (How do you feel about gun control? euthanasia? and federal fiscal policies?). Anyways, I just don't agree with the "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" approach.

Sorry to drag this out, and this is just an honest question/observation.
It seems than in many cases, all we get to do is vote against something. Be it the president, legislation, levy's etc etc. We may never get the ideal option in many choices we make in life, so what do you do? Nothing?
Just do the best than you can do. That could be speaking up at a PTA meeting, or going to become the president of the U.S.A. Too many people do "nothing". Im not pointing fingers at moose or anyone else, I just think that people need to get out of the backseat and start driving.
