For KJ Justice ~ Here's what the Liberty replaced:
The old cornbinder worked
very well offroad with Dana 44's, Locking rear, Rancho lift, V8, auto and 33 x 10.50's, but wasn't real comfortable on longer trips to get to more areas to explore. It now has a happy new home in Flagstaff.
I'm with KJ Justice in that I like Scouts. The first vehicle I ever drove was a 1961 Scout that my father bought new. But, my sons both learned to drive in our CJ-7 with a "granny low" 4-speed. Years ago, Sears had a special catalog for Jeep and Scout parts. Many parts would fit either vehicle.
Meanwhile............... back to the KJ; We just put the first 100 miles on the new lift with absolutely no change in MPG, as expected. In about another week, I'll take it in for an alignment.
Yesterday we had the KJ loaded up with shelving from the hardware store, samples from the flooring store and groceries (probably about 300 pounds in all). The rear springs didn't drop a bit. Now that it's starting to cool off, I'll hook up the boat and get an idea how the medium rear springs do with a bit more load.
