I hardly call a bunch of poser shots in a shallow creek or on some grass "wheelin" no matter where you live. Granted each state got their own type of wheelin but there is trails in every state that are full of rocks or obstacles, notches, etc. so this is no excuse...and thats the whole point of all the other posts questionin the setup...if you put the time and effort into tryin to make the KJ run on 33s then why in the hell would you just pose with it on curbs and in grass   Thats why, people wanna see it wheel real trails and not break somethin...

Ron

I don't think anyone is trying to discredit him, I think the jeep looks bad stupid. He states that his lift is a combo rusty's spring and spacer, now we all know that on most liberties this would spell instant destruction probably even on everyday driving conditions. So we are curious as to what else he might have done that would make that sort of lift work better and with not much else to go by other then the combo lift all we can do is speculate.

BTW, I will be the first to say that I don't wheel my jeep. Not yet anyway, I am getting there. I still owe alot of money and I don't want to scratch her! lol, but I will still mod it. Don't know why I just like it, I will definitely wheel it one day. I beach it often enough, does that count?

To some of the posts above.....we would all just like to see what has been done. As far as Jeepin Al goes, he posted on here all the time with what worked and what didnt work. We walked through everything he was going through with him sort of. We have also seen kits from manufacturers that were suppose to be the next greatest thing for Libertys turn out to be a pile crap! Plus as far as being covered in mud/dirt I have seen Cavaliers as dirty as his pictures so still doesnt prove anything. I would just like to see some pictures of his set up thats all!
As far as being a pig, well I know what mine runs like down in the hills, up here in the flat lands of Ohio ( which I hate) its does great, Also after owning 17 different 4WDs over the years with everything from 6 poppers to full blown V8s putting on a tire that much difference does take away a bunch of power to to how tall, wide and heavy.

Here's a piece of lift advice for y'all:

Don't do what the guy running thornturds did. He bought thornturds.

Also, 33s are no problem for an 8.25. The IFS I would be worried about.

Dosen't matter what you look at it, if they drive it hard or not they look great (It's all up to the owner, but I hope they drive them hard  ). How about all those petrol heads that do up old car's then leave them in the garage all week only to take them out for a sunday drive  . I can only hope that these 2 KJ's can get them every where they want to go & further. IMO it would be best if a setup like that could do A grade trails & at worst do B's. Either way they have balls to give it a go.

I really wish this guy would come back and explain in detail how he made it work. I mean the Jeepin Al lift was supposed to be done nearly two months ago and we haven't heard any updates on it lately, so this might be another option for guys who don't want to wait anymore.

My guess is he did what quite a few of us have already done, a 2.5" coil lift and Al's a-arms, but obviously some more. As already stated, he has on top of that a 2.5" spacer lift front and rear. He definitely had to replace the brake lines, maybe he got the extended SS ones Al was selling himself before he sold the business. To keep his CVs from exploding, he probably did a cradle drop and could have found some more durable CVs. I'd be willing to bet that this is all he's done. He has the stock lower control arms front and rear. That'd be awesome if he talked well enough to Al to know exactly what he did with his front diff to fix the cracking problem, and then did it himself. Then, other than having one under-powered Jeep (he could have gone to 4.10, but still), he'd have a decent rig.

About the Thornbirds for those that don't know...
They are a really, really poor tire choice. They clog very easily, the one thing a Super Swamper shouldn't do, and perform poorly everywhere. I have no first hand experience with them, but I've read A LOT of reviews online, and they all say Thornbirds suck! Considering his license plate, he should have gone with Boggers or Trxus M/Ts. It still looks sweet, but if his rig is durable and actually usuable on the trail, he should have gone with a tire that has a better trail-record.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yep,the only good thing about Thornbirds is they look good, other then that they are usless. He should have put Boggers on that thing if he has the plate with "swamp thing" on it.

Thanks for clearing up the Thornbirds for me, too bad hey. As they say can't judge a book by it's cover & the cover looks good.

Personally I'd be going with smaller tyres than 33's, it looks like you loose toooo much flex in the rear (up that is) & the front is well, a bit crowded (I'd want go with 31's on that lift myself or perhaps 31.5)
