Where have you been? You could have avoided a whole lot of hassle if you had only stuck your head in here sooner.....You would still be selling covers to LOST members.

It sounds like you want to do the right thing, but you must communicate with your customers and distributors. You must have known we were here right?

Personally I like your cover quite well, I had a leak at the seal when I first installed mine but that was probably my fault, because a lubelocker gasket seemed to fix that.

Good luck this is going to be a tough crowd to turn.

Here is the resolution we got from ROCK LIZARD at the time and no one else.
I didn’t want to put him through any hassle being that they weren’t his covers. I could have asked for Ruff Stuff address and deal with them directly but having to take of the POS cover and replacing it with my OEM then a week of so later swap out my OEM cover for a cover that would maybe leak again. No thanks. Marty is a stand up guy and showed it when he was willing to make things better; I just didn’t want him paying anything out of this pocket.

If you can tolerate the slow leak for a few weeks, add fluid as needed, when the new cover arrives, then swap them out, and send back the jacked up cover. When I send out the new cover, I will include funds for return shipping on the jacked up cover, as well as whatever amount you need for 2 quarts of whatever fluid you are using, and more money for the cost of the JB Weld as well. You paid for a cover that I endorsed as being a quality cover. You got a piece of garbage. You should not have had to spend another dime over what you already paid.

If anyone else that hasn't contacted me yet about any problems with their cover, please do so. I know most of the problems have come from that first batch of covers, which I believer was around October or November, but it doesn't really matter, if anyone has any problems at all with these covers, contact me immediately.

Again, I apologize for the problems anyone is having with their covers, and they will be addressed ASAP. As mentioned, I do not make these covers, but I still sold them with my personal stamp of approval, so I take personal responsibility for any quality issues with those covers.

I think you may have been getting a bit of a cock & bull story from someone you want to believe here.......Martin has my phone number and my address is public information. I think there might be something lurking beneath the surface here, Perhaps this has something to do with him never paying for the second batch? All you have to do is call. I haven't heard from Martin for 6 months and I had written the debt off. If you have a problem cover call me, he hasn't even tried and apparently he is telling you I am the problem? Strange how that can come back to haunt you.....

WOW.....are you trying to drive away customers?
This is a public forum.... and you just showed how unprofessional you can be? Think MAN! Even if Marty hasnt paid you, you dont share it with the world!!!

Gravel Maker....I hope you are not really a rep/the owner of Ruff Stuff....If so you are blowing it.Image

While usually I am the self-proclaimed defender of the underdog, I am going to have to agree with Jeger. Just as you're sure Marty has your phone number and other relevant information, I'm sure you have his as well. Marty and his company are well respected here and you're going to have a tough time convincing LOST that he is in the wrong.

Edit: I also wanted to mention that it's no one's fault but yours that you put out a product that was untested. I'm not interested in hearing whether or not it needed to be rushed... You're in charge of making sure products that leave your facility are as high a quality as you want people to believe them to be.

If Martin is telling people something false about me I think he crossed the line and you have the right to know the other side of the story. I cannot let someone tell people I don't honor my Guarantee.....He chose not to pay me and then tell people I wouldn't honor my guarantee at least in one case......Our reputation is more important than that. If someone chooses too tell people things about your company that are not true they need to stand up for their actions and you need to know why they will not contact me.

Or would you have me just stand aside and let someone just say what they pleased? People have the right to say what they please, companies need to be held accountable, both my company AND Martins.

I am the owner of Ruffstuff Specialtiies and I will tell the full story if it is required to explain what has happened here. I commend Martin for what he has done for the KJ crowd but I will not let anyone spread untrue rumors about my company. And several of you have stated he did just that.

I agree that if Marty is spreading misinformation then he should let us know but I find it hard to believe that that is the case. I'm not sure exactly what's going on with the covers but if anyone still has them in their possession and wants to return it for one that is welded by someone who knows what they're doing, would you allow them to do so? I think it would be wise to put that "Guarantee" where you mouth is and allow just that.

Whether one side is right or the other side is right...What would be the "right" thing to do? If RuffStuff says that he does not build other peoples stuff, then any problem would be attributed to RuffStuff. All the other chatter is he said...she said and really shouldn't be posted on this open forum. If all the "problem covers" have been taken care of by the people who purchased them, then we should just accept the fact that things happen. Any discrepancy (if there is one) between RL and RS is just that...between RL and RS...they are in the business and know what the truth is.

Welcome to the forum RS. Since you are in the business, you know that brand loyalty is a hard thing to break thru. RL has a great reputation on L.O.S.T. and I hope you decide to build your reputation on L.O.S.T. in the same way. All the other stuff is just static...you have defended yourself and I think that is what you wanted. Now build us some RuffStuff

I'm more than happy to give you a chance to standby your product.
I like the cover, just don't like the leaks.

I'll give you a call.
