I have one of these:
http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1289924

It's bungied to the back side of the back seats. Comes in handy at car washes for the top, & loading the roof rack too.

There are a few newbies who might think some of this is serious. Please be careful.

What do you mean? I really do have that step stool in my Jeep! :D

I could use the air compressor to goose her into the front seat, why waste time on the tires. Just have her lean forward, insert nozel, and FIRE!!!

Sounds like another happy customer with the OME lift! :)... Too bad he is considering taking it off!! Really i understand your point and would hate to have my grandmother get hurt getting in or out of the KJ and knowing that i could have done something to prevent it from happening.
Also with your HD OME lift i hardley doubt that it will settle much more than 3/8" (if that) !

As far as torquing your swaybar bushings and using lock tite, I would reccommend loosening off all the swaybar components and then spaying them good with a silicone based lubricate. This should take away your sqeaks and noises.

The jeep and bumper are too dark to really tell anything... And the shadow over the rear is unacceptable. I'd like to see some better pics.

hope it don't come off before you wheel it a bit!
i'm waiting for your report after some miles on it.
as you know, i'm investigating lifts and such for my own.
you say this install took an afternoon, right??
what kinds of issues did you run into on the install? or did it 'come right together?

by the way, it looks great!

Thanks,

The only issue i encountered is that OME did not include, nor were they supposed to, the strut retainer washer. I had my new struts assembled and at the time the guy asked about the washer. Once i removed the factory struts i saw it and imediately had the Old man emu ones i had assembled re-assembled with the washers on them. much safer.

There is a topic on here about that just recently.

Other issue I had is a minor one. Once i had the lift on, I could not get the tires back on. My Jack stands were too short and too low to get the rubber back on. When you do yours make sure you have a jack that lifts the KJ kigh enough to get the rubber back on AFTER. Also get hevy duty truck jack stands. Good investment for the future. But ALWAYS USE JACK STANDS, NEVER TRUST JUST A JACK>

Anybody wanna buy mine? 3 tonners, used a few times. Greta for honda CRV's

Which washer are you talking about, is it the metal washer that goes between the strut mounting nut and the strut plate?

i have the same problem with the a jack. I went out and bought a brand new 3 ton jack and stands just to do the lift. The one i had were old. So got the lift on and what happens the darn jack doenst reach!! so after throwing a few 2x6 boards under it i ws just about to get it off the ground enought to get the wheels back on. So now i have to go out and get a high lift just so i can change a darn tire. Oh and now that you mention it ive got a stupid story. Early on in my wrenching days; i think when i was 14 or 15; i was out working on my t-bird. I had the front end up on two jacks while working on it. Yeah i know stupid. At the time though i had no idea and nobody had ever said anything. So working away pulling various parts off the motor and errrrrrrrr....... errrrrrrr..... the jacks started groaning and boom the car fell off the jacks on the tranny. awsome. learned my lesson that day.

OUCH!!!! Obviously you were not under it. Takes a brave man to admit that story. A similar story, Kind of:

When I was 17 i worked at a local Chevron station. On the weekends (open 24/7) I was kind of the assistant manager. The manager was this boob who thought he knew everything. One sunday this old guy comes rolling in in some 1972 fleetwood. exhaust had come un connected just beind the muffler. clamp came loose. tail pipe was dragging AGAINTS the grain, meaning it was dragging forward.

This BOOB jumps in the car says no problem "I can fix it" and throws it in drive and proceeds to pull it up on the front end rack at about 10 mph.

NOTE: I said FRONT END RACK. the cross members caught the tail pipe and crash, sent it flying through the passenger side rear floor. The Boob climbed out and looked at the damage and the face of the guy who owns the fleetwood and throws me the keys and says I'll be in the office, fix it john.

ALL the tools are locked up except a pair of channel locks, vise grips, BFH, bailing wire, duct tape and a hack saw.

I cut what was left of his tail pipe off re-attaced what was salvagable and pointed it out of the side, like something off a dirt track and put the rest in the trunk. lowered the car, backed it out, handed the keys to the owner handed him the business card to the owner of the station and asked if for forgiveness and told him i did the best I could but my boss will need to see this on monday. He tipped me 50.00 and said I want that BOOB's name. I gladly told him and he said I think you will be the manager next weekend. I was.

Exhausts off a fleetwood make the loudest noise when ripping through floor panels.
