It's for the engine  !

But it's missing 2 of the other tools in that box and it's only 1 incomplete box out of a set of 4 for that tool kit.

VM.1054 RELIEF VALVE REMOVER/CENTRAL
CARRIER PIN REMOVER/INSTALLER

Section 9, page 211 of the service manual shows one of the uses for it. From what I can tell it looks like the main bearing supports are dowel pinned to the block. This tool removes the dowel pins.

I have the 4 case set of tools - minus the injector puller. I plan to keep the CRD a long time, but I don't ever want to use this particular tool. I could die happy even if I had never put main bearings in a tunnel block engine.

Zactly why diddnt buy it. :D

I did buy the set 1,2,& 4 from him ,check his compleated auctions.
And I found a new set of sprinter/liberty test vials for 75.00

Only the jeep dealers got these tools in the US
Dealer prices on compleate tool set 1-4 & the test vials is over $2000.00
I called miller tool & had them send me a Quote.

Chrysler hosed dealers had to buy these tools to sell 2 to 4 crds
and most are brand new never used......... dont need them for egr or the f37
