soap box ranting/ jerry rigging/ ????? Everyone that modifys a vehicle does it a little different way. I do not soap box, you have your way which is spend money on parts that a company tells you works on your vehicle, I spend mine on parts that I also know work well and even better than others IMO, I do not see that as jerry rigging at all, jerry rigging is tieing up your rusted out muffler with rusty barbed wire, common practice in Southern Ohio and kentucky
I also see no need to scare someone that maybe reading this for the first time to think Oh my God if I use item A my life and my families life will be in danger!
His shocks are now tight and fitting and he will get many miles of enjoyment out of them. I see no need to belittle people on here always just because you think you bought the best.

Done...

WoodysKJ, um, thanks (I think)?

I really don't think I did anything to jeapordize the future of my family, the world, the cosmos or anything else by SLIGHTLY modifying the frame shock mounts on my liberty. You can sleep well at night, me modifying my shock mounts won't end the world or cause the universe to implode anytime soon :) [slight joking sarcasm intended]
The shocks will work just fine. Do you really think that by pinching the frame mount in 1/4 inch is going to cause a life-threatening accident? C'mon man, you're smarter than that I hope! They are shocks!! no need to pray to God over them

BTW, I have worked on more than a few hard-core off-road vehicles in the past (welding, fabbing, designing my own 1-link, 3-link & 4-link suspensions, etc). I think I know what works, what is safe and what isn't. I was simply curious if someone else on here saw the same thing with the ranchos that I did - Which, BTW, someone did, so it's not a freak occurance of nature that they are a little smaller at the frame mount. Funny, the axle mounts fit up fine.

Thanks again to everyone else for their help!

Joanthan
