so Troy what do you think of Durabak bedliner?
Might as well buy that Duplicolor rattle can bedliner,it will last just as long as the Durabak but cheaper.

Duplicolor is a complete and total nightmare. You can rub it off with your thumb if you press hard enough and from the little I have seen on Durakbak it is identical to Herculiner ( I looked it up this morning). Troy doesn't have anything positive to say about any of the others besides mortons or one of the big boys, line x or rhino lining. So I'd take it with a grain of salt.

Sure I don't have anything good to say about them because they are junk.I have delt with them all in one way or another and the quility just sucks on those cheapo so called bedliners. When I worked in a body shop I removed, with ease, hurculiner, plastikote, durabak, ultra liner, and a few others from pickup beds with very mad customers that were duped with the "cost saving" appeal to those bedliners and man they looked horrible and most of the bedliner was already scraped off.On the other hand one guy with Line-X had to have a bedside replaced, that stuff is tough, and took many discs of 36grit speeddiscs to even start to remove. The Mortons takes 36grit sandpaper to remove also,a vast difference from using 180grit paper and taking those cheapo bedliners off by hand pressure alone.

I wouldn't line the bed of a truck with anything but Line X period, not even your mortons stuff. All the others are not tough enough to handle the beating of loading and unloading stuff in a truck, any of them. My KJ's roof doesn't and will never take the beating like the bed of my work truck does.

Plasti Kote will keep the body panels below the beltline free from scratches which is the only reason I'd put it on in the first place. Mortons may be better than Pasti Kote, Herculiner, and Durabak but it is obviously not Line X and and anyone that thinks any of these others products is as good as Line X is mistaken, If you have to have the protection because you will be really truly abusing your vehicle, go with Line X, but if you are trying to keep the pinstriping from trees and bushes off your doors and fenders, Plasti Kote and Durabak will do the job perfectly.

Those guys that lined their truck beds with the stuff myself and others have put on our jeeps made a poor choice. Those are two completely different applications, a KJ roof and beltine vs a truck bed.

Looks like I opened a can of worms here. Sorry didn't mean to get everyone riled up.

For my needs I just want a bit different look and to keep the bottom free of pin striping. I'm not looking for any hardcore protection here. Troy, I definitely take heed to your advice around here the majority of the time but as I said I don't think my needs are the same in this situation. I'm going to take my chances with plastikote and see how it works out. If I find that it won't work I can still move on to the Morton's and not really have wasted much in the process and yet still be WAY under cost of the Line-x route.

The wife isn't really pumped about the bedliner but it is getting done! It will be on sometime after the next paycheck rolls around...

Not riled up here, is hard to tell exactly how people feel from typing, no hard feelings or anything at all, just spirited debate.

has anyone tried the Rust-Oleum bedliner? I saw some today it was a little bit more than the others but it was made in the USA and it was a 2-part mix

*This Stuff?*

Looks like a decent product to me from the description but I wouldn't know anything about it either.
