Well, to be realistic.. Jeep isn't going to survive on the JEEP heritage alone. They are trying to market, if anything, take away some market share and get into the crossover (station wagon on roids) area. I would be a little less loud about the realiability issue as Jeeps rep isn't the best. I don't think we are in the top half but or KJ's are proving a somewhat reliable but not trouble prone vehicle can be built. Jeep made pickups, jeepsters and the like years ago. Were are they now? In some farmers barn covered with 3 decades of dirt/hay and cow dung. There is nothing wrong with DCX pushing the JEEP name/brand and using it's past rep for being "tough" off road, to sale a few of these to women (the target of the compass). If they felt there wasn't a indenity crises, they wouldn't have stuck those "trail rated" badges on'em to remind people they can handle abuse (but at a cost, now or later). Regardless what they produce. I can't see paying 30-plus grand for that gas guzzling commander to haul 7 people and the Liberty has become to most impractical vehicle I've ever owned. Don't get me wrong. It's VERY FUN to drive, rides great and has gone anywhere I've pointed it. But the size, gas and my driving needs just makes it something I don't see as having a place in the driveway. Other then a blown fuse/fusable link I just developed yesterday, it's been trouble free. Sorry to say, I'm spoiled and old. When I turn in the KJ, it will take an act of god (like giving me the same monthly payments or less for a CRD KJ) to keep me from getting another minivan (I already have one so I can live with 2). I already have a gas guzzler. It's a 14k lb motorhome that gets 11-13mpg. But at least I have room to haul the whole family (5 people) without them trying to kill each other
