Lift Install party anyone??

I ordered my OME/Rancho lift today from Heather at boulderbars. Should be here early next week. Going tomorrow night to pick up my moabs off of craigslist. Just got a few odds and ends to pick up and I am ready to go. Not doing the A-arms at this time, wallet was smoking a bit too much...

Sooooooo.

Who's up for helping me do the install? I have tools at my house but I am really not setup for a large job. I can supply the pizza and beer.

depending on when, i can help. I can't be there the week between 25th to Aug 1st, but after that, I can show up for a few hours. Or if ya want to do it one evening after the 1st, I can run up and help ya, got a few under my belt now.
Do you have an air compressor and air wrench/impact? Almost a must with using the spring compressors.

Doesn't really take much to install a lift, basic tools, good jack and jack stands are a must , rachet straps or make a road trip and bring your Liberty back to where it was born! :wink:

I have those tools, minus the ratchet straps (but I can easily obtain them) I have a full set of air tools- but i need to install a special 110 fuse for my compressor to run properly. It pops the regular fuse every time it tries to kick on, I need a "slow blow" fuse for it. Having someone that that has done a lift before would help out alot; my wife and 9 mo daughter arent much help in the garage.

But a trip up north does not sound to hateful.... road trips are always fun.

On a side note: I did my amsoil oil change/air filter and new NGK Iridium plugs today- runs alot better, slight rough idle is gone.

Back to the lift install- I am booked untill august as well so nothing is going on before then.

Hey Matt, you might check with Scott, he has lots of exp with lifts, He increased mine, did his XJ and KJ, plus u know he has the tools and exp.

I will be gone the 2nd week in Sept, going to OKLAHOMA for a week, Rokee will be stashed in a safe place though!

I've volunteered to host the MNG in August and if we have it here on the 15th I'd be happy to help with the lift install. I've helped on a number of installs including two on my own KJ's. There's plenty of space in my garage and we're close to an NTB if you want to get an alignment before you head home.

whats up matt. yea man we knocked out the rear on mine. the front is still an issue but that will happen eventually. i can roll through an be a helping hand at least for the rears.

but if Meduncan is hosting, me getting there will be a breeze, depending on where in C-bus he is, I can't keep driving all the way out to dayton, the Fiance' is starting to think i like spending time with you guys more! :lol:

Also, I may have a few toys to install sometime around august too, so If I time this right, I may be able to get some help installing an aussie in the rear. Never had to install a locker in a vehicle before, so this is a fresh experience!

Yeah, but they make junk... hahahaha just kiddin, most of my tools are craftsman.

matt, if you want to do it one evening or something give us a yell too. I could run up, maybe Mitch, and bust that baby out in about 3 hrs.... unless someone put the wrong battery in there, right mitch? ( issue from last lift party)

If I wer to make it to the Aug MnG, I'm not working as hard as last time.... going to sit in chair and eat cookies the whole time.... :wink:

I still have many hours of IOUs to collect someday :twisted:

Now what you do have to do, is the ones who kept walking away and BSing instead of helping and learning, they need to have a wrench in their hand next time.
No work on others we don't work on yours.
Its all about learning and sharing
Someday they too will want a lift installed :wink:

just like a certain owner has been asking me about what parts to buy etc for his lift and wanting install help, what he doesn't know yet is I need some rack lights wired up, fair trade maybe :lol:

Thanks for the offers everyone- I just got back from picking up my moabs and tires so seeing them sitting around in my garage is making me want to get this lift installed asap. :twisted:

got a quick question on the lifts.... it says in the sticky on the 4x4 forum:

I would go with one extra upper isolator in the rear and could do either two or three conduit nuts on each side for some extra in the front, that should set you pretty level, if you like it to be with a stock rake front lower than the rear then do two uppers in the rear.

All the way you like it to sit :wink:

And I have three dents in my passenger rear door :twisted:

not that you have to remove them :wink:

2 inch conduit nuts

any hardware store, LOWES, Home Depot, I keep 12 to 14 in the garage all the time

yes got it and got busy will let you know tomorrow evening , had to do some LOST business
