If they are going up front red would be illegal... so I would probably limit it to the other two

I asked the local PD and a few duty cops, they said if they were flashing it would be Illegal. other than that, they said as long as it doesn't seem like I'm attempting to impersonate. It would be fine if they were red.

The red lights have nothing to do with impersonating PD. Every statute I've ever seen regarding vehicle lighting clearly states that clear or amber lighting facing forward ONLY (and amber or red lighting facing rearward ONLY)... anything else is grounds for a nice little ticket.

Maybe the officer you asked wouldn't care personally but I'm pretty sure it's still illegal :wink:

most states with colored light laws(indiana for example) state that forward facing red lights are for emergency vehicles only, green is only for volunteer fire, and blue is for snowplows etc.

in Ohio the only colored light law states flashing red, red/white, red/blue are reserved for emergency vehicles. nowhere in our revised code or administrative code addresses solid lights.

You do know all the work involved in putting them in right? You have to take apart your headlight assembly which is glued/fussed together by baking the housings in the oven and hope you don't melt them or break them.If you mess up a housing there goes $125(each) out the door.Not really worth it for something that doesn't look very good.

i wouldn't push your luck, cause if you drive elsewhere they might not care, I would stay away from red or blue, thats why HID's over 8k are illegal (blue)

Took mine apart with a knife to retreive the little piece in there that had fallen off... Took 5 minutes? That included taking off the grill, unscrewing the light housing, tearing it open, putting it back on, etc. It's still sticky, and that light isn't going anywhere.
