has any one done a lift on a jk/tj before?
these are the parts i have been advised to get. i can host a lift party if i can get some help

You saw the work involved when I replaced your Libby springs. Now think... no compressing and assembling the shock/spring assemblies, just pull old ones out and put new ones in, just alot of unbolting stuff. Hardest part for you will be removing the arms and replacing with the longer ones. Just get a can of PB Blaster and soak every nut and bolt multiple times!!!

it sounds easy but i dont even know what a track bar is?!@? om trying to learn but i;ve filled my head with liberty knowledge and every time i try to think i think of a parts for a kj

Matt, trackbar is a longer bar that lays same way as the rearend/diffy, one end bolts to the frame, other end bolts to the rear/diffy. It keeps the differential lined up side to side when using coil springs. It's a matter of unbolting it and replacing, not hard.

I've done two TJ lifts by myself and I can tell you that while there are some hard parts (stupid pitman arm) it's mostly an easy install. Perhaps the hardest part was torquing the lower control arms down to 125 ft lbs (only need to do that if you replace the control arms). I only weigh about 145, combine that with the inability to get a good angle on the torque wrench when laying under the TJ and you have a pretty good source of entertainment. :banghead:

what i have been told is that i need an evap canister skid first. then rock rails then lift and tires.

i've heard there is a check engine light issue with the relocator. i've got it planned out now. i came across some money i didnt realize i had so im getting 2 seat covers and 2 floor mats. the rest will be saved. next im getting my skid, then rock rails. then i'll have my finaly decision on a lift. im thinking about doing a 1.5 inch body lift down the line when i have tire and driveshaft money also

but why would moving the evap canister cause a CEL?

All you are doing is changing out a bracket

I know that if you disco the hoses and don't get them properly sealed back up, it will sense the leak and throw a code. I have a friend with a JK that relocated it, and AFAIK he doesn't have a CEL problem. at least if he does, he hasn't mentioned it.

Yea i know a few people who wheel their JKs and they have all either relocated it with no CEL that im aware of or put a skip plate over it. The one guy that didnt ripped the evac canister off less than a week after purchasing his 2010 JK.

thats why its #1 on my list. although i may wait cuz i can get some shrockwork rails for 140
