Does anyone know the specifics on how to adjust our TREs? Pics would be nice, but are not necessary.

Thanks,
Andy

I wasn't sure, My old truck had a sleeve, and I was looking at the tie rod looking for a sleeve, and all I saw was the end, and a nut.

so I just loosen the nut, turn the shaft, and then retighten?

you typically turn both the same amount unless somethings out of wack, the distance to the left and right should be the same from the inner tie rod otherwise your steering wheel will be crooked

front center of the tire should be 1/8" less than the rear centers of the tire

optimally you'd want to be able to drive the vehicle forward around 10-20 feet straight and level, kick it in neutral and use the e-brake to stop the vehicle

optimally you'd also measure from inside edge of the rim to the other inside edge of the rim but this measurement proves rather difficult on 4x4 vehicles due to skids and what not and thus you're stuck with the center of the tread

yup

if there's no identifiable marks on the inner tie rod you can easily make some with a dremel or a crusty pocket knife

and unless you plan to disconnect the tie rods from the knuckle you'll be turning the inner tie rod ;) hehe

somethin happen or ya just not trackin straight as you'd like these days?

the correct toe ratio is 1/8" for the liberty right tom??

Nothing wrong, something went right for once. :-)r

It has always been a slight bit off, but I was told it was bad tire balancing.

I'm installing my franky this week. so i'm going to install the lift, adjust the toe, and drive like that for a week or so, and do some heavy flexing to settle it in, and then go in for an alignment, provided that my camber isn't scary bad, right now my tires tip in at the top from crazy saggy front suspension, so driving with the camber out a bit might not be bad for the tires.

the cambers gonna be off pretty bad after the lift

i'd get it aligned at a firestone or something and get a 3 year alignment package or something

dont metnion it was just lifted when you set up the appointment, and watch them to amke sure they get the specs as close as they can. Ive had shops not adjust anythign but toe becuase of vehicles being lifted and they are afraid of them. camber might not be perfect but they cna get it close enough that an extra tire rotation here and there will cure the tire wear form it
