here's the verdict, toe was 3* off.
but now the camber on the passenger side is so bad the spindle keeps hitting the bottom of the strut. but the good news is my springs arent hitting the arms
anyone else have this problem?
I have to go back to firestone and drop my car off tomorrow so they can 'look at it' and 'figure out what is wrong'.
the guy I spoke to to tell him it was messed up said, 'well, I'm not sure but this aftermarket stuff might be causing the problem, not your alignment.'
then I spoke to him more and he said 'well, we might just not be able to align it to factory spec, this aftermarket stuff might be messing with the readings, because the readings say the pass. side is only -2*, which you would never be able to eyeball, but this is deffinitely crooked.'
AND THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE!!!
seriously, who the hell knowingly attempts to align a lifted vehicle to factory spec?
chances are it won't work.
I also forgot to mention that I picked this shop BECAUSE more than 3/4s of the guys working there drive lifted trucks. several of them have IFS.
and they are still idiots.
I have a feeling the guy tried to give me a 'set-the-toe-and-go' alignment, and didn't try and fix the camber because he probably figured I wouldn't notice.
so now when I go over speed bumps I get a nice *Pop* from the spindle hitting the poly spacer/pad on the front of the strut.
and a nice grumbling rubby noise when I turn real hard to the left.
Oh yeah, and to the right too!
