Okay, so I been browsing around this section a little bit, trying to find out what size tire I will be able to squeeze under my jeep without having to do all the cutting and pounding. I am running the frankenlift II premium and getting plenty of lift out of it. I definently wanna go with a taller tire but dont know what tire to go with that wont be too wide. I would like to go with a 265/75 16, would I have to have spacers or have to cut my bumpers, inner fenders?? If so, I will probably stick with the 245's. Also, will the 265's make a big difference in acceleration while driving in the mountains? The jeep doesnt exactly FLY up the hills as it is, dont wanna inhibit it from doing any better. :2cents: Oh, they will be staying on my MOAB rims for the time being.
Thanks for the help as always :JEEPIN:

IF you don't want to lose power then stay with the 245-75s or go with 265-70s about the same height but wider and looks good on the MOABs
You will lose lots of power with the 265-75 unless you go to 4.10s anyone thta says otherwise is full of ...it!
I noticed a big difference when I went to 265-75s level ground OK but hit any hills and you may as well drive with the OD off all of the time to have any power

I am driving a 5 speed, so I dont have the luxury of Over Drive. Also, dont wanna go too wide with all the snow I drive in while making the weekly snowboarding commute to the mountains. I think I might just stick with the 245/75 tire. Seems that is a more common tire with better pricing all around. Now just to choose which tire. I have been stuck between the BFG All terrains or the General Grabber ATs :juggle: . Both look to have a similar tread pattern, but I dont know all too much when it comes to tread.

Look at the Goodyear Duratracs, I ran BFG ATs last winter and the Duratracs will go way better than the BFGs IMO

I wouldn't think so not with a Daystar of course depends on how much your stock springs have sagged what are you getting from middle of the hub to bottom of the flare? Also stock wheels I would say rubbing on the swaybar, lots of trimming

I kinda wondered about the Dura Tracs. I have seen some good reviews on the Dura Tracs. Hmm, tough decision :frankie: . As long as they hold up on the highway and pull me out of the mud off road.

I have over 6000 miles on mine now and are really wearing good, traction is good in everything I have thrown at them so far. They have a little hum on the road just enough to hear them nothing like the Old Ground Hawgs or Mudders I used to run though :-)r

That's the one thing I don't like about duratracs and a/t tires...

I miss the hum of my super swampers :(

well i guess it's more of a roar with boggers... :jester:

For what it's worth I plan on going with 31x11.5 SuperSwamper LTBs

I'm not sure where they measured on those, but the actual dimensions on a 16x8 rim are, 9.8" tread width, 31.0" O.D. and 10.30"C.S.

Those should fit, Right tom?

Or I might go with Firestone Destination M/Ts
