The only drawback I have noticed is this:
With 2.5" of lift in the front...in order to align the Jeep properly the shop has to adjust the arms a significant amount. This causes the steering response to be altered greatly in a negative fashion. The steering is much more "touchy" now than it was before....to the point that I have to be very cautious not to jerk the wheel on the Interstate. Even small inputs to the steering wheel make large motions in the direction of the Jeep now. This could be dangerous if someone is driving that is not experienced in the Jeep world, or for anyone driving on slick roadways. Use caution.
So, the handling is worse. But the ride quality is still nice.
Are you sure its aligned properly. It will do that with the alignment being off but should not be noticeable if aligned correctly.
Over 110,000 miles lifted and never had that as an issue
Yes. I watched myself as he did the alignment and all his adjustments were in spec. They also were using a brand new, top of the line alignment machine. This tire shop was built a few months ago and they have all new stuff.
Now, the front wheels "feel" like they are pushed out farther away from the steering wheel, which is confirmed by the fact that I don't rub the pinch weld at all anymore. This has caused a severe loss of the comfortable consistency in motion with steering. Like I said, when I turn the wheel, the Jeep reacts more sharply now.
