I'm going to replace a inner CV boot tomorrow. What have you guys used to crimp the bands going around the boot? Did you have to buy the tool?

on my 91 chevy 4x4 when i replaced the boots i used worm clamps ( hose clamps). this is alot easyer and just as strong! with the worm clamp you know that it is on tight! i could never get the clamp that you are talking about to seal completely plus with the worm clamp it wont let water in!

not unless you get a tool that the dealer uses!!!! also it will not mess with the balance so you should not have any vibration from the little screw on the body of the clamp!!! GOOD LUCK ITS THE BEST I CAN DO FOR YOU!!

autozone has a CV clamp tool listed in their tool loaner program.

If you want to buy some .. they have them at NAPA
