Just a thought on the air intake. I just did my timing belt and water pump yesterday with 98000 miles on it. My CCV has been hooked up. I inspected the intake hose very good and it was just fine. It was oily but not soft or bad in any way.
I am going to pull it when I have more time to work on it to get a better look. I am not sure what is going on with the high silicon exactly but I want the problem solved.
The reason for doing the oil analysis is to catch things before they become bigger problems, this is what I want to do. My plan was to do the lab test once every year and I skipped last fall

didn't want to spend the extra money then because I was dealing with evicting a non-paying tenant from my only rental at the time....paying court costs and not getting paid while the bills still need payed.
So I'm calling the dealer to see what what they extort for the hose then order it if I find I need it
