Dear Lost members,

I have been struggling to find the solution, had minor accident with my 2006 CRD Liberty and driver AB deployed. All is fixed now and i replaced the AB but the need to know what to do to clear the AB light now. I don't have a Chrysler dealer in the area and have to mange on my own and help from electrician/mechanic.

Let me know if you have any ideas. As i read somewhere that replacement of AB processor is unnecessary. Anybody had to deal with simliar problem?

Rick

hard to tell without plugging into it.. but a lot of times you'll have to change either the seat belt buckle... or seat belt its self after an accident to get the light to go out. some have sensors.. others have pretentioners that go bad in an accident.

Thanks for the reply.

It could be seat belt as it was stuck, i had to pull it out and now works fine. Where can i get a used seat belt that can replace current one?

I have OBDII cable, is there any programs that can be used to read this problem?

T.

You need to replace the seat belt tensioners, they are triggered at the same time the airbags are. Basically you need whole new seat belts.

Sometimes you need to replace the clockspring........almost always the wires melt from the heat on the squib.

Get some used seat belts from a non airbag blown KJ, and toss those it, it should solve the problem.

When I worked at a bodyshop the SRS computer required replacement also after a airbag deployment. It also needs to be programmed by a dealership,it's VIN specific.

I don't see anything in the service manual showing that the ACM needs to be replaced for the deployment service.

To know for sure you need to read whatever srs codes are present. The cheap aftermarket scanners usually won't read srs airbag codes...at least neither of mine do.
