What is the recommendation for timing belt replacement for an 06 CRD?

You will get more input in the CRD Love That Torque portion of the forum. Also your question needs to be more specific as to what recommendation:
1. belt brand to use
2. change interval - miles vs. years.
3. how to do the job or who to have do the job

I'm just interested in the change interval.

100000 miles. I think that is 160km.

us the consensus on this board is around 100K and absolutely no more that 125K.

I just did mine at 100K.

I may be a bit conservative but I wouldn't go more than 110,000 if that. Belts are cheap but rockers are expensive. On a related note Sir Sam and I chatted a while back and both of us are inclined to pay a bit of attention to time in addition to miles although that belt is mostly enclosed. My 05 is now ca 7 years old with just over 45,000 miles so in an abundance of caution, maybe more than I need, I'm probably going to throw on a new timing belt (not idlers/tension/WP unless bearings are iffy) at 48,000 miles when I do a new serpentine belt.

I'm in the same position as Papaindigo - 05 with about 46k. Most replacement recommendations that I've seen over the years are based on mileage OR time. if you have a 12000 mile oil change interval but only do 4k pa, the usual recommendation is STILL to have an annual change, not wait 3 years :) My recollection of the belt change recommendation is 100k miles or 5 years - but I could be wrong there.

And yes, while I am indeed as old as dirt :D , as I live in London, almost all of my travel around town and commuting is by public transport. Unless you have to, you DON'T drive in Central London in daytime, unless you really have a thing for traffic jams (actually even at night you can get stuck in traffic jams depending on where you are driving- and I mean at 2-3am). The Jeep is for leisure use - shooting, photography, touring etc, hence the mileage.

Don't change it yet, I did mine at 110,000 miles and it was still in perfect condition.

Mine also looked excellent at 100k. Hopefully, the gates replacement will look as good on 90k when I have to replace it and the water pump
