I love my Duratracs as well. I know they're on par with the prices of the BFGs. I'd offer to let you see them, but I have no idea when I'll even be close to Mt. Sinai again.
They're starting to get pretty common out here on the island. The problem is, if you do a lot of highway driving like me, you're mileage will take a hit(and they hum a little...). They're aggressive, to the point I heard someone call them "tweeners" as in the mid point of an A/T and a M/T. It's true, but on the bright side I get a ton of compliments on them, especially from the women around here
If you want something less aggressive or less common, I'd suggest taking a look at Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10. I've heard nothing but good things about them, and they aren't too aggressive.
But between the 2 you chose, I can't say. Never ran them. I know the BFGs are pretty common, but as ATH mentioned they're still running the same tread pattern as almost 20 years ago. It's outdated now. And honestly, I prefer lugs like on a M/T compared to their "lugs". They just never seemed aggressive to me. On the other hand, a lot of Firestone guys have been pleased with the tires. But I think a lot of them run Destination M/Ts.
