For that rate you could fly down, hang out at the airport for a couple of days and come back :ROTFL:

Hate my little "city" garage , not sure what people use them for , must be the reason you see everyone parked on the street
Really miss my old garage  :( :x
Have fun being off , someday will make it over just to see your " light collection" :ROTFL:

Lol. I love my "country" garage. Room for the Jeep and 2 full sized tool boxes and a 5hp compressor 6 shelves and a mini fridge. And that is just in the 1 car garage. Still have a 2 car and 2 sheds.

Man, that 17 days off work went too quick :SOMBRERO:

First day of work in 2015, gonna be a long one :dizzy:

Got moved into my mom's house on the 20th, now to get old house cleaned out...what a job that will be. Found out we have to drill a new well :banghead: , the old one won't support 5 people water usuage, it cannot recover fast enough so it's running dry.

Libby hit a milestone, never thought it would make it :jester:

Glad to hear that you got moved, big changes I'll bet . Sucks you have to drill a well, not a cheap option for sure but when out in the country only choice you'll have .
Wow your Libby is low mileage, for some reason I was thinking it had more miles than that!

Or just do a better job of conserving water. Sometimes people will install a big day bin tank like 500 gal and let it slowly fill, then draw from that. Then overnight it will refill when your sleeping.

I grew up in the house so I understand the conservation. Wife and kids, not so much but they are learning

The storage tank was mentioned as an option, but the water quality is really bad, hard, some iron and really high salt content ( probably calcium). So it would cost probably $2-3000 for tank and pump/labor or more then we would need another $3-5000 for a softener system to clean it up.
Or we can drill a new well for an estimate of $5 K then maybe have good supply and better quality and be able to get by with a cheap $500 softener off the shelf.

The current well was drill down into rock so the weep holes are kind of not in a good position to allow pipe to re-fill, then they are 25 yers old so clogged and rusted shut, then we are getting the salt compound leaching out of the rock. They have tried re-generation a few yrs ago, but it's still at only 5 gals per minute and tasets horrible.
I guess we are stuck between " a rock and a hard place".

Sucks as city water is only like 800 feet around the corner, but county will not run it becuase there is only 4 houses in a 1/2 mnile or so, not worth their costs.

I have a similar issue with TIme Warner cable, they service the house right across the street but refuse to run a 70-80' drop across street into the house.

I still own our old house so for now, we will take quick showers, haul drinking water from there and we have been taking laundry back over to wash. It's only .6 mile around the corner so small inconvenience for now.

Yep Tom, for an '05 she is pretty low miles, 10K per year. Helps when wife's commute is only a 20 mile round trip and we rarely travel driving the Libby.

My wife had to learn real quick too. When we lived upstairs in my shop apt. Our well for that was only 2.5gpm. Fortunately i had them install a 6" casing so we at least had roughly 65 gallons of ready to go water. Well is only 75' deep.

When i built my new house, i dug a 3/4 acre pond myself and then had a well drilled to fill the pond. Stinky sulfur water and they kept drilling until they were completely out of drilling rod. 300' and still not quite 10gpm. Only cost me $3000 but its not tied to the house and i installed the pump and trenched in the 220v power.

4 times they turned it over, they shouldn't of won to begin with if you listened to the " experts "
Then 4 turnovers, so again how can you win doing that ?
But they did. I watch maybe 2 games a year, glad I watched that one for sure !
