The Jeep brand is synonymous with American independence and the outdoors.
The Liberty CRD is a great vehicle, with very low emissions PER MILE, and
naturally flex-fueled. The 2005 Liberty CRD exceeded sales expectations,
likely for these reasons. By both conserving on fuel AND being at-the-ready
to burn alternative, American-made, clean biodiesel, the CRD Jeep is a GREAT
addition to the American Jeep tradition.
Who cares about CA and CARB, what about the rest of the country that cares
about mileage, durability and alternate fuel readiness? Don't fold to the
pressure of shortsighted politicians in various regions. Would you stop
selling cars in Europe if the Belgians yelled boo? Stand up, be independent,
forge ahead.that is what Jeep is about!!!
Why not argue for an emissions test with 20% Biodiesel in the tank? You'll
pass all particulate/sulfur issues. With the new low sulfur diesel
formulations, most existing diesel cars are going to NEED some Biodiesel or
additive to increase lubricity anyways. Biodiesel is available in many
states.including CA. Many of us CRD owners are experimenting running on
100% Biodiesel. Hums like a kitten, and the face of the emissions inspection
guy is worth putting on a billboard.
Meanwhile, every current CRD owner is reducing oil dependence, and keeping
more dollars here in this country. What does this mean for our
shop/dealer-support? With less CRDs being sold, will we get (even) worse
support for our engines?
