Been running B100 (99) which is delivered to my house for $3.49 a gallon. Never underestimate how good it feels to pass up the gas stations and fill up at your house! The stuff is manufacturered by World Energy (one of the large producers/distributors) and is ASTM. I really wouldn't risk putting anything other than ASTM grade stuff in there...way WAY too many variables that could get you. I'm getting an 80's benz for straight veggie conversion...but those are very different engines...plus its an old, old, cheap car so I don't expect many years out of it...but using free waste veg oil will pay for the car in 1 year of driving so that's fine!
ps in CT there is only one station selling only B20, so home delivery is the only way to go. If you are in CT call Gus from
www.greenleafbiofuels.com. Oh, and they sell cheaper stuff for my furnace/hot water.
pps started a site about running the Libby on BioD:
www.biodieseljeep.comHey guy I like bio-diesel also, but
there is no ASTM for B100 or any mixture of Bio and D2 as yet, there is standard for B20 for the military and that is all and it is not athorized for non military. Just be warned that if you have any problem with the engine D/C may be able to deny warranty because you used more then the prescribed B5 mixture, so I would not be advertizing that you are using anything above B5 here or at the dealership. Local tech's have said that D/C has been requiring oil or fuel samples on most all fuel systems or engine problems/failures this year, compaired to just 2 or 3 last year. Lastest was a Dodge Cummins with fuel pump failure for second time in 20k miles, fuel sample was Biodiesel with high water & trash content. Anyway he is out the cost of a new fuel pump and labor.
