Got head and cover back on. Pins in. Belt on correctly. Pulled pins and hand turning over. Engine locks up after about quarter turn. Is there more than one small hole in flywheel for the line up pin?

Yes. There are several holes in the flywheel. Is the crank set to 3 o clock?

Just as ebbnflow said, there are several holes in the flywheel.
But there is a dimple index mark on the crankshaft that should be set at 3:00 when you have the pin in the correct flywheel hole.
Note: you may have to do a little cleaning to see it!

remember we talked about this 8/9
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=90307

the pistons should all gave been at equal height when you had the head off if the pin was in correct hole at 90 degrees ATDC
