Welcome, and congrats on the new Jeep!
I would definitely recommend the GDE tune. Great improvements across the board, all true.
Don't know about the oil filter... sorry.
If the EGR were blocked, you would know. From what I have heard, a blocked EGR results in severe power loss. Just get the GDE tune and you won't have to worry about it
The Elephant Hose Mod (EHM) is for the CCV system, not the EGR. CCV is Closed Crankcase Ventillation, which means that it vents gases from your crankcase into the engine for a more thorough burn. Unfortunately, this also tends to bring small quantities of oil through the system, which then condenses and clogs up your intercooler (or CAC) hoses. GDE claims the quantities are negligable as long as you have the EGR turned off (the gunk on the MAP results from a combo of oil and EGR soot, not just one). I'm going to do an oil change or two, see how nasty things are, and then make my own decision about reworking the CCV system.
If you decide to do it, you can do either the EHM, Provent, or homemade CCV filter. If money is a factor, I would strongly recommend a homemade filter as the EHM emits the fumes directly into the atmosphere (which, of course, ain't so good for Mother Earth). The CCV isn't a bad system, the oil is. A filter will remove the oil, allowing the perfectly harmless gasses to continue to cycle through.
Since you cleaned your MAP, I would also recommend you remove the CAC hoses and give them a good scrub down. At 51k miles, they are probably absolutely disgusting!
